My journey to iCabbi is as bit of a windy road. I started my career in media, with six and a half years at Dublin radio station FM104. As the digital and social revolution started to kick in I found myself drawn to the new world and as such ended up firstly working for the largest platform in Ireland and then on to being a Head of Social Media for two large companies, travelling the world and developing my early career. A chance meeting with a Canadian data company led me into SaaS and I have been in the SaaS arena for over 10 years now.
I started in iCabbi heading up Partnerships and in 2019 we launched the worlds first taxi marketplace. This revolutionary idea brought together taxi fleets with partners from all over the world that were focussed on improving their business, driving more rides and enhancing their driver and passenger experiences. COVID then appeared and with a heavy heart I had to leave iCabbi and Mobility.
It wasn’t to be the end of the relationship though and in true iCabbi style I returned in 2024 to become CCO – leading the organisation in Partnerships, Business Development, Sales and M&A. The organisation I returned to has the same friendly almost family feel to it while at the same time it has gone through incredible growth being over 300% larger than when I previously left.
My job is to empower our customers to help push back against the surge in ride hail operators and to develop the taxi market into the mobility choice for the future. Global entities trying to monopolise the mobility space is bad for everyone – it drives money offshore, it creates poor working environments and worse earnings for drivers and it leverages and profits from passengers with a faceless, robotic front end removing the very soul from transportation. Local providers are critical to the betterment of mobility and I am very proud to be a part of the team that is helping to ensure that is always a reality.
